If you plan to have top-up your 2-3 years of undergraduate study you had in Turkey thanks to UK undergraduate programs namely a bachelor’s degree from a better university in the UK, first of all, you are required to have the courses you have taken in Turkey accepted according to the British System, get an equivalency certificate and obtain an equivalent diploma (associate’s degree). This process usually takes 1 to 4 months.
You are able to enroll in Top-up programs after obtaining an Associate Degree (equivalency procedure) from the UK and complete your education in one year and obtain a Bachelor’s Degree from a globally known UK university.
In the assessment of your top-up application in the UK, your courses and grades in your university and your English proficiency level in formal education are considered. However, in some online/distance learning programs, it may be sufficient for you to have English at the level B1 that can do the assignments given to you, and you may not be asked to prove your level.
Many online/distance learning programs are available for students who do not want to participate in formal education. These programs, although their diploma equivalency is identical, can be easier and more advantageous in terms of their teaching method and passing conditions and costs.
How to Transfer to the Universities in the UK?
The main difference between transferring to universities in the UK and those in the US is that you can transfer a year, not a course. All courses you take at the university are reviewed along with their content,
and it is controlled whether the total number of courses complies with the content of the courses taken in the UK in 1 year and its curriculum. Accordingly, based on the number of courses you take, it is decided which year you will continue from.
Do I Transfer to the Department I’m Studying At?
Students who intend to top up an undergraduate study in the UK have a better chance if they apply to a program in that field or very close to what field they have studied at their own university.

Every university in the UK does not provide a Top-Up program.
Are There Top-Up Programs Available for Each Program?
Don’t think that you can attend a Top-Up program for every department in universities. Universities announce their Top-Up Programs on their websites. In general, the Top-Up program should be related or close to whichever field you have studied.
Top-Up Programs are generally offered in areas such as Economics, Business Administration, IT Management, Public Relations, etc., which do not require laboratory and field work and do not fall into technical/engineering fields.
Can a Bachelor’s Degree be Obtained at the End of a Year in a Top-Up Program?
Yes, students can have a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a 4-year diploma from the UK with only 1 year of study.
Applications to Top-Up programs, which can only be defined as final year completion, are increasingly in demand due to their many advantages.
How Much are Top-Up fees?
You are advised to create a budget according to the program you are enrolled in and the annual fees of the university where you will receive a diploma. Accordingly, the fees of Top-Up Programs can generally range from 8,000 to 16,000 GBP per year.
